England reach Euro 2024 final after Watkins' late winner

England will face Spain in the Euro 2024 final in Berlin on Sunday after a last-minute strike from substitute Ollie Watkins sealed a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in the semi-final.

Watkins, who had only been on the pitch for a few minutes, fired home from close range in the 90th minute to send England through to their first major final since 1966.

The match was a tight affair, with both teams having chances to win it. The Netherlands took the lead in the first half through Memphis Depay, but Luke Shaw equalised for England just after the hour mark.

With the match heading for extra time, Watkins popped up with the winning goal to send England into raptures. It was a cruel blow for the Netherlands, who had played well but were ultimately undone by a moment of magic from Watkins.

England will now face Spain in the final, which will be played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday.
