Thousands in Montana Without Power After Gusty Winds

Over 4,000 Flathead Co-op Members Impacted

High winds left thousands of people across Montana without power Friday into Saturday.

The Flathead Electric Cooperative reported that approximately 13,700 of its 58,000 members lost power.

The co-op said the outages were caused by high winds that brought down trees and power lines.

The outages were widespread, with areas in Kalispell, Hamilton, and the Bitterroot Valley affected.

The Flathead Electric Cooperative's online outage map showed that one of the confirmed power outages was caused by a tree falling on a power line.

The co-op said crews were working to restore power as quickly as possible, but some customers may not have power restored until Sunday morning.

Customers can check the Flathead Electric Cooperative's website or social media pages for updates on the outages.

In the meantime, customers are advised to stay away from downed power lines and to report any outages to the co-op.
