Michael Jung withdraws from CHIO cross-country to protect horse
German equestrian withdraws leading mount fischerChipmunk FRH
Jung cites horse's well-being as top priority
Three-time Olympic champion Michael Jung has made the difficult decision to withdraw his leading horse, fischerChipmunk FRH, from the cross-country phase of the prestigious CHIO Aachen equestrian event in Germany.
Jung, who was in first place after the dressage and jumping phases, explained that his decision was based solely on his horse's well-being. He said he noticed some minor discomfort in fischerChipmunk FRH and wanted to prioritize the horse's health over competition.
"It was a tough decision, but I have to put my horse's well-being first," Jung said. "I'm very proud of what we've accomplished so far, but it's more important to make sure fischerChipmunk FRH is healthy and happy."
