Barcelona coach dismisses reports claiming he has ruled out Vitor Roque: "Totally wrong"
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has denied reports that he has ruled out a move for Brazilian striker Vitor Roque.
Roque, 17, has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in recent months, with the Catalan giants reportedly keen on signing the highly-rated forward.
However, Xavi has now insisted that no decision has been made on Roque's future, and that he is still very much in the club's plans.
"It's totally wrong," Xavi said when asked about the reports linking Roque with a move away from Barcelona. "Vitor Roque is a very good player, and we are very happy with him."
Roque has been in impressive form for Athletico Paranaense this season, scoring 14 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
The Brazilian forward has also been capped at international level, and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in South America.
Barcelona are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The Catalan giants have already been linked with a number of players, including Robert Lewandowski, Bernardo Silva, and Jules Kounde.
